Butler County Recycling Events

To keep our team safe and facility in working order, we are unable to accept certain materials for recycling such as chemicals and electronics. These items can be recycled, but they do need to be sent to specialized facilities.
If not dealt with properly—like throwing them in the trash instead of recycling—toxic substances contained in these items can leach into the soil and water, harming ecosystems and community health. The availability of recycled materials can also lower the cost of consumer goods and reduce waste and the ecological impact of mining.

Hang onto these items until you have an opportunity to recycle them. Helpfully, many counties have programs to help residents recycle these types materials. Butler County recently released the dates for their recycling program.

Mark Your Calendars

Butler County is offering drive-thru recycling events throughout the year. These events take place at various locations in the country from 9am to 1pm.\

June 14 at 306 E. Water St. Slippery Rock, PA 16057

Recycle Electronics and Chemicals

Gather electronics and chemicals to recycle and then drop them off at one of the above recycling events. These materials are accepted:

Window AC Units
Mini Fridges
Gaming Devices
Microwaves and MORE!

Keep in mind that you may have to pay a small charge to recycle these items. The charges are as follows:

Other e-waste: $.40/lb
Paint: $0.70/lb
Bulbs and batteries: $0.76/lb
Freon: $.27/lb
Propase: $6.50/unit
Other chemicals: $1.03/lb
